2 MY REVIEW: “SMOKED” Palette by Urban Decay
I have receieved a surprise birthday gift in the mail today…. from a very special friend who lives so far away from me
Such a beautiful gift… so I decided to review it!
To be honest… when you see pics of the smoked palette online – you don’t really get attracted to it! That is what happened to me… I didn’t like it very much cuz I didn’t feel that the colors were vibrant… But when you actually have it in your hands.. TRUST me… you will change your mind!!!
That is what happened to me- when i saw it & tested the colors- I fell in love … and to tell you the truth- the colors are amazing!
Forget about MAC eyeshadows ( which I believe have a high pigmentation).. but if you are looking for eyeshadows that are super rich & vibrant and are somewhat metallic/reflective- then URBAN DECAY eyeshadows are the answer!
The SMOKED Palette
Comes in a zippy case.. includes 10 eyeshadows… 1 24/7 eyepencil.. and a mini original eye primer tube
I’m very glad that this palette did NOT have a brush- as I really dislike their brushes- find them very stiff- very synthetic and unworkable!
The Black “Preversion” 24/7 glide on eye pencil is SUPER SUPER SUPER BLACK… & trust me when I tell you it is UNSMUDGABLE! I tested it on my hand and had a really hard time removing it! This means if you have watery eyes then this will really stay!
The palette also has a small book- a how to book- to show you how to apply up to 12 eye looks! I find this very helpful- it will even tell you eye areas- like where is your crease & waterline etc… it is very detailed … reminds me of toofaced how to kits!
THE COLORS
Oh.. so beautiful… I’m not just saying this cuz it is a blog … but Im truly IMPRESSED… if you love silver (all shade ranges) or gold or copper etc – this is amazing!! IF YOU LOVE SHIMMER… then this is the palette to get! You can use those colors on their own- or use them on the centre of ur lid and surround with matte colors (my choice)… or you can work with more than one color and pull on the outer > corners!
WARNING: Those colors are HIGHLY PIGMENTED- meaning color excess will fall of on your eye/under eye area so BE VERY CAREFULL and tap your brush before application
BELOW are my hand swatches
PREVERSION PENCIL: super dark black- KINKY: neutral beige (matte) – FREESTYLE: brownish peach(matte) – MUSHROOM: gray brown taupe – BACKDOOR: charcoal brown with a hint of grey (matte) – BLACKOUT – black (matte)
I would use kinky for a highlight (brow bone) and freestyle to blend above the crease.
BARLUST: reddish brown with a hint of gold (shimmery) – ROCKSTAR: dark smoky purple (shimmery) – EVIDENCE: navy blue (metallic/shimmery) – LOADED: green/teal with black undertones – ASPHALT: dark grey with silver micro shimmer.
My Opinion
My fav 2 colors where MUSHROOM & BARLUST… They are amazing…I don’t really understand why it is called SMOKED … I think it should be called metallic or frost hahahaha
SMOKED is more about Matte colors- and this has the majority of NON MATTE colors! You have to be great with blending in order to make those colors look smoked- that is why Matte colors work well to smoke up!
URBAN DECAY IS AVAILABLE ONLINE ( I always get it from amazon or lookfantastic.com) or travel and buy it from all over the world!

THIS PALETTE IS MY ALLLLLLL TIME FAVORITE!!! I reviewed it previously in my blog– & i hope someone who really puts effort into mentioning me through her tweets to win it!!
The palette includes 12 amazing shades, a brush, & A PRIMER POTION ( MY FAV)!!
1 “SIN”- Urban Decay’s shimmery champagne eye primer potion
There’s more to the eye primer potions from URBAN DECAY!!
I have been constantly talking about the eye primer potion – original.. The one you apply on your lids before applying eyeshadow – so your eyeshadow won’t crease in the middle, and to help it stay put for over 12 hours!!! I absolutely love the primer potions.. I have it in a couple of tubes- big, small, squeezi tubes, and professional sized ones.. That is how much I’m obsessed by it- CUZ TRUST ME IT’S REALLLLLY GOOD!!!!!!
Well, urban decay also offers the primer potions in different shades!!!!! You have probably not heard of them- but the ones I have been constantly talking about is the original one- transparent color. Looks like beige but is actually transparent. I have reviewed “EDEN” – their matt beige primer in a previous recent post!
I have the Eyeshadow Primer Potion in “SIN”
I’m obsessed with this product! I salute UD for producing this. It’s an eyeshadow in a tube!! This is the fastest applying eyeshadow in the world. 2 dots- and smudge- WOW!! This stuff really makes me happy!
SIN: the color can be described as a shimmering champagne. It’s highly frosted with some tiny shimmers.
This formula will allow your eyeshadow to pop. You can apply eyeshadow on top of it, but I just love to use it on its own!! If used under eyeshadow- it tends to glimmer underneath the shadow- adds glamour! It looks so glamorous on its own- just a black liner + mascara & you’re good to go!
THIS COLOR GOES AMAZING WITH RED/BURGUNDY LIPS. TRUST ME
The pic below shows a swatch sample on my hand, you can see the color
Just apply a few dots on your eyelid & pat it or blend it with your fingertips!
You can order it online, usually from amazon- or get it from SEPHORA dubai.
0 “EDEN”- Urban Decay’s nude/beige eye primer potion
There’s more to the eye primer potions from URBAN DECAY!!
I have been constantly talking about the eye primer potion – original.. The one you apply on your lids before applying eyeshadow – so your eyeshadow won’t crease in the middle, and to help it stay put for over 12 hours!!! I absolutely love the primer potions.. I have the Eyeshadow Primer Potion in “EDEN”.
This is not a new product, but i love it so much, and sometimes you would need a colored primer (natural), where you can use an eyeshadow on it’s own, or help in acting as a base for eyeshadows on top.
EDEN: a soft beigi color. UD describes it as a nude matte shade.
The difference between this and the ‘original’ shade primer potion is that you can wear EDEN as a primer before eyeshadow OR ALONE to even out your skintone. EDEN is a good base if you want to mattify your eyeshadows- for satin/matte eyeshadows. It also mattify’s shimmered eyeshadows!
The pic below shows a swatch sample on my hand, you can see the color- my hand looks funny here, ignore it
Also, if you have oily lids, dullness, redness, or veins… or even if you need a bit of concealing- This is the way to go!!
Just apply a few dots on your eyelid & pat it or blend it with your fingertips!
IT CONCEALS- IT MATTIFIES- IT ALSO PREPS—— AND PRIMES!!
1 URBAN DECAY’S LIP JUNKIE LIPGLOSS- Plumped up lips in seconds
Got this amazing gloss from a friend.. and I haven’t tried it until a few days ago. AND.. I LOVE!
Well, it’s not a normal gloss… It’s one of those glosses that make your lips –PLUMPED UP… In seconds!!
This is a super super shiny gloss(from URBAN DECAY) that will give your lips a cushiony feeling.. It doesn’t feel that gooey & it comes in a variety of amazing shades.
It’s called “LIP JUNKIE”…
You’ve got some neutrals, some brights, some darks & some shimmery ones!
I love the shade that I have. It’s called “NAKED”- basically it’s a beautiful neutral pink shade! The gloss packaging might confuse you & make you think that it’s a reddish color, but it’s actually not!!
This is how the shade looks on paper- a beigi pink
This is how it looks on skin
What I love, absolutely love, is the scent of the gloss! It (they all) smells like yummy peppermints!! It will make your breath smell fresh!! I tried to remove it with a makeup remover, but still the smell is there!!
This gloss plumps up your lips- what I mean by that is that once you apply it, you will feel a slight tingle (it’s not burning your lips don’t worry!!) but it’s cooling your lips. Also, because the gloss is super glossy, it will give people the illusion that it’s juicier & plumper!
I have used a similar product to this- called “sexy motherpucker” from soap & glory… and I am loving this more, as it’s not as sticky!
Urban decay is not sold in Bahrain, however you can get it online or from Dubai. Sephora Bahrain are desperately trying to get UD here!!
0 Urban Decay’s 15 shade palette- I FINALLY GOT IT!
I have posted a week ago a post regarding Urban Decay’s 15shade palette. Celebrating its 15th birthday with a unique 15 shade palette- including all new never seen before eye shadows in a beautiful silvery purple box.
Being launched only recently, a dear friend of mine got it for me! Yes I’m so excited & happy to try them out & tell you what I think.
Here are some shots of the amazing case
Shades are as following
Midnight 15: white/pink/purplish silverfish pearly frost
Vanilla: golden white pearly shimmer
Flow: frosty peach
Chase: golden bronze
Midnight Rodeo: bronzish pink (shimmery/metallic)
M.I.A: dark satin brown
Deeper: olive bronzish golden frost
Deep End: bright shimmery turquoise
Half Truth: blue violet shimmer
Ace: charcoal blue
Evidence: shimmery sapphire blue
Omen: blue violet shimmer
Blackout: matte black
Tainted: satin lilac with gold shimmer
Junkshow: satin fuchsia
I must say, I’m in love with the colors! The neutrals are awesome, and the light colored ones are great to use as eyebrow highlighters and tear duct shimmers. The beautiful bronzy shades will be suitable for a full lid, or for a smokey look. Darker shades will suit perfectly for the smokey look and shading the outer corners of the eyes. The only colors that I won’t use for the neutral/smokey looks are the bluish/turquoisish/and pinkish shades. I loved “tainted” & it can be used beautifully as a full lid color or a brow bone highlight or eyed mixed with “junkshow” so the pink effect compliments a dramatic black smokey eye. If you love to use flashy colors then the pink & turquoise- you will love!
