0 One of my top favorite MASCARAs …..
I get a lot of questions on “What is my favorite mascara” and it is super hard to answer that! I have a lot of favorites – but I’ll show you one which I absolutely LOVE !
This amazing mascara is from ILLAMASQUA- A BRAND I CHERISH AND LOVE AND WOULD DIE FOR!
The mascara is called ” MASQUARA ” in color “RAVEN”
What makes this mascara amazing is that it has all the qualities you want in other mascaras- all bottled in one. It gives you length, seperation, curls, thickens and gives it super volume! Besides- it is SUPER BLACK- jet black! The name RAVEN really suits it- it is as black as a raven!
I had it for a while and forgot about it- but then decided to try it and I was shocked- it really exceeded my expectations!
This one has really impressed me- it really makes my lashes look different than any other I have tried. What I also liked about it, it doesn’t make my lashes stick think and pointy- which many others do!
It didn’t clump with me- but i don’t consider it waterproof.
Love the packaging too- just sleek black- clean & classy.
The brush is large but not thick/fat- but it really works wonders on volumizing the lashes.
If you want dramatic eyelashes- then this one is a fantastic option.
0 Gold Eyelook
See below for the steps on how to create this eye look. Sorry the image is not super clear
I used the following products shown below
- After priming the eye area, I used Sleep palette eyeshadows (unfortunately i don’t know the names of what I used)
- Topped it off with Illamasqua’s “ore” pigment
- Defined the outer corner into the crease with a darker color from the sleep palette (dark brown)
- Maybelline gel liner
- smoky lash mascara from makeupforever
- chanel nude eyeliner “clair” on waterline
- Ardell lashes “demi pixi”
0 Want the darkest eye liner? Learn how to get one!
I absolutely love a super black liner – but even the darkest ones tend to go lighter over time….
I have an amazing product from ILLAMASQUA which makes that super intense black liner!
I use 2 products from ILLAMASQUA and mix them together!
I use the following:
An illamasqua slanted angled brush (u can use any – from any brand)
Illamasqua’s black eyeshadow OBSIDIAN
And Illamasqua’s sealing gel
This sealing gel is amazing! It’s basically a tiny bottle with a formula- that changes powders to liquids.
One drop of this product turns any powder into a colour-intense, water-resistant PASTE that dries quickly and lasts for hours. It creates a waterproof finishing and gives off maximum pigmentation!
You can use it with any pigment or eyeshadow and it will turn it to creamy- similar to inglot’s Duraline.
Below are the steps of what I do to create a really dark liner
Make sure to apply instantly as the product dries of very quickly! I do apply this past on to my eye 2-3 times to get a dark intense color!
Below are some pictures of the mixed product on my hand- and with a comparison to normal gel liners.
Below- you can see how dark and intense the color is compared to dark gel liners!
It might be a bit hard for you to draw it instantly with this paste, so I suggest drawing it first with a gel liner then tracing over with this paste !
You can find this product in www.illamasqua.com or in middleast (UAE & KUWAIT)
0 My experience- Illamasqua’s School of Makeup Art !
So as you all have seen- through twitter, instagram & Facebook- the updates on my course in Illamasqua’s School of Makeup Art!
I have enrolled in this amazing course “mastering professional makeup” at Illamasqua’s flagship store – 20 beak street, London!
I must say- i’m impressed! I know a lot about makeup- but this helped in enhancing my professional skills through application.
The course was done in 5 days- taught by educational makeup artists CLAIRE & DANIEL – which I have the upmost respect for. They are super talented & very helpful & great in explaining things!
I do recommend this course if u have a little background in makeup cuz it is quite fast… They show you how to do something- then u have to do it quickly.
They were really helpful in explaining how to enter the makeup industry & how to deal with clients! I also really loved the part where you learn about the proper hygiene with your makeup and tools and how to avoid infections!
As many of you were asking- What did I learn in the course- lemme show you the full experience by pictures!
Hello LONDON!
Arrived at Illamasqua’s flagship store
How amazing is this line? “WE ARE COLOUR- YOU ARE BEAUTY?!”
THE ENDLESS VARIETY OF MAKEUP THAT WE GOT TO PLAY AROUND WITH!
I was literally running around grabbing everything and trying it out!
Their amazing skin base foundations! One of my all time favs
ABOVE- the eyeliner cakes which we used for filling in the eyebrows!
Inside the class
So We have received a lot of free stuff – 11 brushes (full brush kit) & products for our own use!
One of my favorite tasks- LEARNING HOW TO TAKE BLENDING TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
Keep in mind- this is NOT an eye look- it is basically practice on blending. We used a white color and a black color. We had to create GREY.. in between…. so it had to be gradual! I loved how informative this was and the diff techniques you had to hold your brush!
Below: my eye! See how it is blended!
Below- Claire shows us how to create a CATWALK/editorial wet eye look!
She then shows us the CATWALK/Editorial big cat eye liner! It was super informative to learn all about the angles & where to tell your model to look to draw the perfect line!
Enjoyed working on erica’s eyes- a thick winged liner to suit her eyes!
A look I did on another student with amazing porcelain skin- defined crease… how gorgeous are her blue eyes!?
Claire shows her students how to create a brow- what to do & what NOT to do… and it was great to see her show how to create a brow for the ones who barely have nothing or very little hairs!
Students below working on each other’s eyebrows!
Daniel explains the most important part in makeup- THE COLOR THEORY which we have to memorize!!
We received a plate with primary colors and we had to create a foundation from that!! HOW COOL was that to create a beige foundation from red yellow blue and white!!?
Daniel shows us how to create an ombre lip! And we had to create that using diff colors!
Claire showing her students how to create a SYMMETRICAL lip- using DARK COLORS such as BLACK! It was super great that she used black- so we can see our mistakes clearly- It is all about symmetry!! that is what professional makeup relies on! If i used pinks or nudes I wont be able to see the mistakes!
My dark green lips below! I kinda like it!!!
For our final project- each student had to create a look on another student… It was up to us to do something creative or just beauty- I did a beauty look- smoky eyes and contouring. So below are the products I used.. and the mess I made later on
Beautiful erika above! Im so glad I got to work on a beautiful Japanese doll! It was challenging yet fun to work on mono lids (eyes with no crease) !
And Finally- I received my certificate! YAY!
All i can say is, thank you to Illamasqua for giving me the opportunity to learn makeup with new & unique techniques! I have really enjoyed my time
I LOVE U ILLAMASQUA

0 Unrequited… a must have blush from Illamasqua
I had this blush for a while now… but i wanted to test it out a couple of times before writing my opinion!
I have this blush from Illamasqua … (love this brand btw)..
The blush is called ” Unrequited“…

It’s a beautiful soft baby pink matt finish blush. Reminds me of MAC’s ‘pink swoon’!
A beautiful light bubblegum pink… very pigmented (so you won’t need much on your brush)…
It lasts all day!

I have used it on a model 1 month ago- “the august photoshoot” & the result was dolly like flawless naturally beautiful!
It might seem baby like to you but it tends to warm up a bit. It’s a really amazing vibrant color! It suits all skin tones.

The color blends well- just add a pop of powder on top of the blush to blend smooth edges & tone it down.

What I also love is the squarish packaging of the blush… a bit different than the round ones we are used to. Sophisticated packaging.. attractive.
0 Love at first sight: illamasqua’s new skin base foundation – REVIEW
So as u all know i was in Dubai a few days ago- just a quick getaway.. And also to re-stock on some of my makeup products!
I have been dying to try this foundation from this well known brand (in the west) “illamasqua”- British brand ofcorse ( I luv the Brits by the way)..

Famous makeup artists worldwide rave about this foundation constantly- among them are pixiwoo & hudabeauty !
So i went to Bloomingdales in dubai mall & got my illamasqua SKIN BASE FOUNDATION. It’s not as big as other liquid foundations- but the results were WORTH IT!

The shades come in a range of 18 shades. Picking out the correct shade is quite tricky i suggest u check the shades for yourself if u travel to the UK/states/Dubai since for example ( shade #10 is for a yellow undertone but #11 which is for a pinkish undertone but 12 is yellow/beigi. So it’s quite tricky.

I had to mix 2 shades to get my matching color i took shades “#10 & #12″ and mixed them!

The result:
I’m telling u girls- this foundation is a must have- you will luv it!! I promise u!
What i love about it is that it’s not heavy at all- it feels so light but the coverage is unbelievably good!! It covers everything but doesn’t feel like it’s there! I sweat it is super soft & is not yellow (unlike MAC foundations)!
It’s the perfect skin tone color! Ohhh soooo flawless.
I dab it with a beauty blender to even it all out after applying it with a brush.
Removes any dull complexion underneath & becomes even more amazing when finishing powder is applied on top. I use chanel’s universalle loose powder just to make it set.
In addition to makeup4ever HD & chanel’s foundations.. The illamasqua skin base foundation goes on top of the list.
It’s one of those foundations that stay long enough for a full day(if it had the perfect base of creams underneath)!
Where to get it from?
You can get it on bloomingdales dubai or worldwide(not in bahrain ofcorse – it’s the land of NO new brands).
You can also order online through illamasqua’s website www.illamasqua.comor even check out my friend’s blog
