1 Pavera Makeup: my blush palette
Pavera makeup is one amazing brand which lots of you may not have heard of. It has recently opened in Bahrain (seef mall) and I really suggest you try their products if u haven’t!
Their products are highly pigmented & very rich in color! I am in love with their pigments (will do another review soon)-
I absolutely loved their blushers too. So i got this really great palette where they fill it in for you with your chosen colors.
The sizes of the blushers are reasonable not too small and not as huge as kryolan
Below is a hand swatch of those blushes/highlighters- see how highly pigmented they are. FYI- these are only with one application ( i have not applied more than one coat)
0 The Real Technique’s Blush Brush… Why is it great to have?
When it comes to applying blush, I always love using the cubby kabuki brushes as they help in a good grip via the small handle & helps me control the size of the blush!
I really dislike using the normal blush brushes with long handles- don’t ask me why- I just don’t.. maybe because many of them are not that super soft and the blush/cheek area is super sensitive!
The only blush brush that I absolutely love- with a long handle- is the REAL TECHNIQUE’s “Blush Brush” by Samantha Chapman – also known as Sam from Pixiwoo.
This blush brush is SIMPLY amazing.. I keep on buying more and more of it, one is never enough for me! I believe it has to do with the hairs!
This blush brush is simply made to contour & define ur cheeks flawlessly. It has synthetic taklon fibers. For those who have no clue what a taklon fibre is- its is basically more hygenic than animal hair brushes- it doesn’t pick up the bacteria and trap powders. These brushes clean SUPER fast unlike other hairs. If you have sensitive skin, you should stick to taklon brushes as it decreases any form of irritation that occurs on your face.
The hairs are very very very soft so the blush applied will look flawless. Also, the blush end is tapered (meaning it has a pointy curvy tip) this will help in contouring at the same time. You can use this brush to apply blush, powder or contour! Another benefit to this brush is that it doesn’t pick up a lot of product- so it is just enough for you to build it up the way you want. You blushers/powders will last more with this brush as it doesn’t waste them.
You can apply your blush by sweeping it across back & forth. You can apply it in a number 8 motion or “infinity” motion. you can also apply it by patting it on the area. It is also a buffer brush so you can buff the product in by circular motions to look more natural.
The pink mettalic finish of the handle is beautiful- and these brushes do stand up as they have a flat bottom.
The price is SUPER affordable! I highly recommend it!
You can find those in the UK in boots and other drugstores. Also sold online via amazon and other websites.
0 MAC Heavenly Creature – My review on “Light Year” Mineralize Skinfinish

So the heavenly creature collection by MAC has launched everywhere in the world- except here- well… I have got my share from MAC in Spain !
This collection will launch in Bahrain AUG 14 (most probably)- so I hope this will help in knowing what to buy!

The collection resembles “planets“! The full collection is mineralize products. Something exciting in this collection also is the return of the famous volcanic ash!! I have reviewed the special volcanic ash exfoliator here in case you have missed it!

There has been major chaos in the beauty industry that this is the WOW collection from MAC… but to be honest… When I saw it- I didn’t go crazy! I just got 2 products – it wasn’t that attractive to me! (PERSONAL OPINION)..
BUT IF YOU DESPERATELY NEED HIGHLIGHTERS… THEN THIS IS THE COLLECTION U SHOULD FOCUS ON!!
Well, I wanted to review something I liked from the collection- the “LIGHT YEAR” Mineralize Skinfinish!
Light Year is a skinfinish with a peachy pink and gold shimmer. It has a swirl of peachy coral pink with a bigger swirl of gold.
You can use this skinfinish as a blush or highlighter!
It has very high pigmentation – and the color is gorgeous. Rose goldish shade…. that is not tooo glittery/shimmery. That is what i liked about it- when the gold is blended with the pink it gives off a beautiful color! Surprisingly it is very similar to “REDHEAD” skinfinish from the MAC Naturally collection- if you missed the review read about it here !!
Check out the swatch below to see how the color looks like
Beautiful golden sheen!
Close up!
MY VERDICT: If you really need a highlighter- this will be a fabulous one! But i don’t suggest using it if you are very pale!
0 Harmonie Poudre De Soleil – Summertime De Chanel Collection- My review
This beautiful collection from Chanel “Summertime De Chanel” screams summer. It includes a mixture of sophisticated nude & coral lips, a mix of muted browns and a focus on glowing bronzed skin!
Chanel- always keeping it classy- opt for pretty simple and subtle shades instead of extra bright hues for the summer.
As Chanel describes it, “Sun-kissed cheeks, magnetic eyes, and radiant beauty”.

So I have this bronzer from the collection- and I can tell you- from just seeing it- you will feel that it is the MOST natural bronzer you will ever see, due to its very subtle colors. BTW- this bronzer is used on the model’s face in the above photo.

The bronzer “Harmonie Poudre De Soleil” #907 Sable Beige is the bronzer’s name. The collection does have another one called “Sable Rose” with some pink & gold to give some hint of blush.

It comes in a cute velvety pouch

Sable Beige bronzer has a mixture of beiges & browns. You will notice that the colors range from soft to intense, all in form of blocks! This will make it easier to swipe the different colors and give your face a beautiful mixed glow (light & dark)- Not just dark as other bronzers (orangy result)!

So it has 7 color strips. They blend beautifully and naturally contour (which I LOVE- not a dark shown contour).

If you want a super natural bronzer- this is the way to go. For extra dark bronzed look- this is the wrong choice.

However, it will go beautifully if you are tanned & want to add a hint of a natural glow. You will feel that this bronzer is super lightweight!
I like using these type of bronzers/blushes with a KABUKI brush- easier to use and take on all the different colors.
Can’t wait to be fully tanned again in a week so I can really feel how this bronzer will give me a natural glow!
My swatch is below- notice how very natural it looks- a beautiful reflecting sheen… but you can always add more for it to show

The bronzer’s retail price is 28 BD
Summertime De Chanel Full collection is available in Bahrain. It’s limited editon so get yours asap! It is one of those chanel powders (like Blush De Horizon-pink) which are causing a huge stirr in the beauty industry!
You can get yours at:
1 PEONY PETAL- The Blush inspired by the Paeonia Flower
I got this blush last week- from the MAC Tres Chic Collection!
The collection was wainly focused on blushes- made up of 6 blushes only. You have the reddish orangy shade, the neutral and the pink/mauve.

To be honest, majority of the shades look very similar to the MAC permanent blushes- so i was hesitated to purchase the rest.
The one I really loved and got is “PEONY PETAL“

A gorgeous pink- with a hint of mauve with it!
Named “Peony Petal”- after the beautiful flower “PAEONIA”

The color is not just pink- it does have some blue undertones with it- So it can be described as a “BRIGHT BLUE PINK”!
The color is candy pink – and the texture is satin/matte.

You can achieve a sheer look with this or intesify it too! So it is easily buildable.

FYI: since the color has blueish undertones- it will go better with cooler complexion. If you have a warmer complexion (yellow undertone) then you should match it with a similar color lip to have something to compliment!

Check out the Swatches below to see the color. As you can see, my skin is slightly tanned- yet it goes beautifully with it!

0 Sunny Pink- The Terracotta Blush from Guerlain
Summer is here! Well almost.. .. I’m already tanned and found the perfect blush which goes well with a tanned look!
I have tried CREAMY blushes (in pans) but they tend to be sticky and must be blended a lot in order to look natural.
Well, this blush- the one I’m about to show you now is in form of liquid & it is EASILY BLENDABLE… plus it goes BEAUTIFULLY with tanned skin!

This liquid Blush from GUERLAIN, is in the shade “sunny pink”!

This shade is a beautiful pinkish/orangy shade. I describe it as a goldenish rosey shade.

Keep in mind, that warm/sunny weather calls for easy creamy lotions to be applied & this is a simple solution!
What I love about it is that it is more than just a blush. It adds color, yet it highlights/adds shimmer! So it is a 2 in 1 product.
With this product, all you need to do is blend with your fingers the color onto your cheeks (rub it off gently so it will blend with your skin).

The pic (above) shows how the color looks on tanned skin & on fairer skin.
GUERLAIN also sells another shade- a coral shade- “Spicy Coral”.
This product is sold for BD 21.500 in Bahrain & nearly £28 in the UK.
0 MY REVIEW: MAC MINERALIZE SKINFINISH “REDHEAD”
This gorgeous product from MAC recently launched in Bahrain- 2 days ago… well it has been launched ages ago in other countries
…

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in the shade “RedHead” is what grabbed my attention from the MAC Naturally collection!

This product can be considered a blush and/or a highlighter! I use it as a highlighter

Redhead consists of gold to pink shades- And it is LIMITED EDITION! ( it is a repromote though keep in mind- has been introduced previously)

It carries strips of 4 gradual shades: champagnish beige, dark champagne beige, peachy champagney color & a bronzy shade with a hint of rose

The trick is mixing all these colors together and applying it on ur upper cheekbones (preferrably) to give u a beautiful sheen/glow! It will add some warmth but definetly some sheen/shimmer with a hint of color
It can also work perfectly with bronzed skin! You can also use it as a blush-I would say for those with fair skin

You can easily pull it off by complimenting it with a nude lip! Beautiful combo
It is such a pretty color with great pigmentation. So be careful not to apply TOO much of it! Make it look subtle by using a lighter hand. It does make a great highlighter!!! A subtle one that is not too SILVERISH!
The other skinfinish in this collection is “Blonde” which is more leaning towards a pinkish shade.
My verdict: it is a good buy! If you can’t find a highlighter in Bahrain- this can be a good one
0 Unrequited… a must have blush from Illamasqua
I had this blush for a while now… but i wanted to test it out a couple of times before writing my opinion!
I have this blush from Illamasqua … (love this brand btw)..
The blush is called ” Unrequited“…

It’s a beautiful soft baby pink matt finish blush. Reminds me of MAC’s ‘pink swoon’!
A beautiful light bubblegum pink… very pigmented (so you won’t need much on your brush)…
It lasts all day!

I have used it on a model 1 month ago- “the august photoshoot” & the result was dolly like flawless naturally beautiful!
It might seem baby like to you but it tends to warm up a bit. It’s a really amazing vibrant color! It suits all skin tones.

The color blends well- just add a pop of powder on top of the blush to blend smooth edges & tone it down.

What I also love is the squarish packaging of the blush… a bit different than the round ones we are used to. Sophisticated packaging.. attractive.
1 The perfect shade of PEACH – a great blusher from Kryolan
Kryolan – the GERMAN makeup brand- might be known to have heavy cover foundations- but they have other products that are awesome!
They have a huge range of blushes

And they come in a big round packaging- something that will last for a very long time!
Since corals & peach are the trend this spring- I recently purchased this blush- a peachy shade- #TC 2.

It’s HUGE… it’s like a MAC Blush X 2 (in terms of size)

I love how the color is subtle…. Meaning that when u apply it- it’s not a streak of PEACH shade across the cheek. It’s very soft and is easily blended into the skin.
This Powder blusher is more like a matte peach

Although it’s highly pigmented- it still gives you a soft peachy look!

I find it a more natural peachy shade than MAC’s ‘peaches’. It’s softer and goes beautifully will pinkish shades in the apples of the cheeks.
0 Blush Horizon- Chanel’s limited edition blush
While I was in Dubai, I got this just launched Blush from Chanel!! I have been waiting for it-since the product picture release!

It’s called “BLUSH HORIZON DE CHANEL” from the Harmonie de Printemps Collection for Spring 2012!

It’s called ‘horizon’ since the shades resemble the horizon!
It’s a soft glow blush- coming in a mirrored compact case

The powder is very smooth and highly pigmented powder- will show on extra fair sin too!
It is made out of different shades (It is like having 4 different blushes in one!)
It comes in stripes- white, beigi/peach, light baby doll pink & dark pink! Keep in mind that every strip has different shimmer. The whole point is mixing it up to give a beautiful blended pink (as if you used more than one blush)!

IT DOES GIVE A BEAUTIFUL GLOW!!!! I have never used a pink blush that gives off such a beautiful glow! The glow is soft, fresh, pure & reflects amazing radiance

Just make sure- extra sure- not to apply a lot as it might look too frosty/shimmery!! If you applied a lot- just soften it down but applying some face powder on top! Another similar blush I have previously tried is from Guerlain (Serie Noire Blush G) – sort of similar shade but has more peach! It also reminds me of NARS ‘orgasm’ blush- but still the chanel one has more pink!

The only downside to this product is the high price tag- nearly 30 BD !! (It is sold in Bahrain!!)
0 The Z-Palette : Customizable Magnetic Empty Makeup Palette
I’ve had this palette for a while and I keep on forgetting to write about it!!
It’s soooooooo useful!! I LOVE IT!
It’s from a brand called ‘Z- Palette’ : used for professionals to place the different shapes & sizes of eyeshadows/blushes.

I get so frustrated as I am a heavy MAC eyeshadow & blush palette user – and MAC’s eye palettes does not fit any type of eyeshadow nor does the blush palette. Some eyeshadows are bigger or some are squared. The best way is to buy the Z-palette for all those weird different shapes that don’t fit. For example: Nars blushes are squared in shape – don’t go into MAC’s circle palette.. so is bobbi browns!
Why use a palette in the first place?
To be honest, it’s wrong and confusing to keep eyeshadows in their little tubs. That way you want be able to see the range of colors & it won’t be easy access. Laying them down all next to each other makes you know the different shades & also makes you actually use them… some of the shades hidden in their own packaging will make you forget them and will never use them!
I love the Z-Palette… and I find it sooooo useful for everything. It even comes with mini magnets for you to cut and place under metal pans of the shadow/blush to stick in the palette.

The palette has a plastic transparent cover which protects your shades. What I love about it is that it’s see through (easy to choose)!
This is how my crazy palettes look like- I KNOW THEY ARE MESSY but that is how I work- quick & on the go…

I ordered mine from www.zpalette.com
The website features a lot of different sizes (mine is the large) .. they also come in different border styles. Mine is plain black- they come in like the pics below:
2 THINK PINK: My Fav Pink Products
Since October is known as the “national breast cancer awareness month”, let’s think pink!
I’m gonna post my all time favorite products- pink of course!
Some I might have wrote about before- so bare with me!
I LOVE:
MAC’s “expensive pink” eyeshadow
This eyeshadow is a pinkish peachy color. It’s a mixture of bright/baby/&hot pink- all in one tub. Dirty pink with some hints of gold! You might think it’s bold to wear pink eyeshadow, but this one is just amazing on its own!!! (natural looking)
———-
MAC’s “neo-orange” loose eyeshadow pigment
This intense pink salmonish color is one of a kind. It can also be described as an electric peach, orange mixed with pink.
The trick is using a tiny dot to blend it the “background” of a smoky eye. When blending with black it gives a brownish/copperish color. Don’t be scared from the color- this pink will go beautifully IF BLENDED. DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT ON ITS ONE.. FAIL!
———
MAC’s “please me” lipstick
It’s a soft baby pink. It looks gorgeous on everyone! It’s matte though!
———
Bobbi Brown’s pot rouge “pale pink”
Comes in a pot, can be used for both cheeks & lips
A very pinkish pale color or a bright pastel pink- I just luv luv luv this shade!
———
MAC’s “pink swoon blush”
The bubblegum Barbie-ish color! This bright pink color gives you the doll cheeks. Soft pink, very subtle
——–
NARS “Turkish delight” lipgloss
Voted for Best lip gloss for olive skin-2011 “InStyle”- a dense gloss with a pink sorbet shade, or a milky pink (I would describe). I use it on top of please me or angel lipstick (MAC).
——–
Bobbi Brown “Candy” lip pencil
A medium-bright pink lip pencil- I love this! I love its color. Goes with almost all pink lipsticks- from MAC mostly!
———
Bobbi Brown “Sand Pink” Blush
It is a gorgeous soft pink with a hint of berry shade. Can be also described as a mauve pink blush- gives you a flushed look! It has brown undertones so it will give a natural flush to the cheeks. What I love about it is that it’s not too light & not too dark!
Do not apply a lot of it though!
——
It would really mean a lot if you all contribute to charities for this matter- help the patients with breast cancer! Let’s make a difference…

2 Springhseen Blush from MAC – beautiful sheen glow
This blush from MAC is different from the rest. I don’t consider it a “blush”! I feel that it doesn’t only add a hint of color, but highlights the skin to give a beautiful light glow.
It’s called “Springsheen” -It basically gives you a beautiful peachy glow
The picture above is shown when photographed with light.
The photo below shows how the blush looks like with NO light.
Let me describe the color for you. It’s a peach color with a hint of pink & golden shimmers. It will give you a rich, goldish peach color on our cheeks. What’s good about it is the shimmer is not TOO much.
Whichever blush you choose, you can apply, then you can apply springsheen as a highlighter on the top part of your cheeks. It works beautifully if applied to compliment any peachy/pinky/light bronze blush. Can be also used alone!
Amazingly, it matches all skin tones.

5 MY PHOTO TUTORIAL- How to mend your broken eyeshadows & blushes!!!
I decided to show you how to mend your broken eyeshadows/blushes, on my own, instead of videos. It’s very easy, just follow the steps.
This is my broken eyeshadow. I love this shade, it’s Nylon-from MAC.
Take any wand or stick and crush the broken pieces even more- make it EXTRA CRUSHED
Get a coin, make sure it fits the eyeshadow exactly, same size.
Take the coin and wrap it in a tissue, like the picture below. Then keep the wrapped tissue on the side.
Go to a pharmacy and buy a “Rubbing Alcohol/ Alcohol Disinfectant” – a bottle.
After crushing the eyeshadow (within its pan), pour a few drops of alcohol on it. Make sure to not pour too much.
It has to be a thick paste. If it became to watery, let it dry for a few hours.
Take the wrapped up coin in tissue and press it on the paste. You can press & twist it in a circular motion.
It will look like this, after being pressd. You can smooth it out any way you like
Let it dry for an hour or so, then place it in your palette, if you have one.
YAY! Mission accomplished!
0 How to mend your broken eyeshadows & blushes!!!
Your favorite eyeshadow /blush just broke into pieces? DON’T PANIC!
CRY NO MORE!!!
There is a solution for it! WITHOUT buying another one ofcorse.
All you need to do is a few simple steps & your eyeshadow/blush will look good as new!
The videos are really helpful & trust me you will try it out!
I WILL POST MY OWN PHOTO TUTORIAL AFTER THIS POST, SHOWING YOU HOW STEP BY STEP!!!
Check out those videos- they are all similar though-using the same techniques!
Video 1
or Video 2
Some use alcohol(vodka) or rubbing alcohol (from pharmacies), some use toner. It’s up to you!
I have a lot of eyeshadow repairing to do tonite! I’m so glad I don’t need to throw them out!
0 My favorite Blush from Bobbi Brown- TAWNY
Bobbi Brown’s blushes don’t often catch my eye, but this one did. I usually pick out my blushes from Benefit and MAC, but this – “TAWNY” I had to share it with you girls
Bobbie Brown has plenty of matte blushes to offer. Tawny is one of them. It s a beautiful warm peachy but slightly brown color (or to be more specific- a pinky brown). It gives a lovely blush color, not so coral & not so red
Please apply this blush carefully- to not look like a clown. J This shade suits a medium colored skin tone, as I don’t suggest it for extra fair skin. This blush is perfect if you’re running late & need to add a touch of color
Many girls complain that it gives them a MUDDY look. I must say that that happens because they apply it in a wrong way, or just apply to much, or might have added it on top of a bronzer
0 Want pinky pinky extra pinky dolly cheeks? A beautiful pink blush from MAC
I’m not the type of person who wears “pink” cheeks… but sometimes adding a hint on top of my usual blusher makes it look really pretty- especially if your lipstick shade is pink!
Pink swoon- from MAC is the way to go. It’s a lighter shade than “Fleur power” from MAC, and the lighter the better.
It’s a beautiful subtle pink shade that will look natural for everyday. It’s a matte powdery blush that needs to be put on very lightly to not over-do. With it not having shimmer makes it more natural looking. It’s the perfect pink, not baby pink or fuchsia, just pink. This blush is not highly pigmented, which means it’s quite sheer=NO CLOWN EFFECT.
If you have a fair skin tone, pink swoon will look amazing when added to the apple of your cheeks- giving you that fresh look! It won’t work properly on darker skin. Kim Kardashian posted once about how much she loves this blush & how she keeps it in her purse at all times. She calls it “the perfect pink”!
0 The CONTOUR BRUSH.. How to use it in other ways
We have all seen the angled brushes in makeup stores & have brought it and kept it in the makeup vanity and constantly look at it, but not touch it.
Well, I’m sure you know what it is at least used for.
Contouring: shading the areas you want to make look smaller, thinner, narrower.. etc. (with a darker brownish color).
I’m going to concentrate on the MAC 168 Large angled contour brush- (or any similar brush you have)
This post is not about how to contour using this brush. It’s a little tip / trick that I would love to share with you guys on the other uses of this brush.
This brush can be used perfectly as a BLUSH brush.
Trust me, it works.
The bristles of this brush are so soft, which makes it great for blending. Since it is angled, I take this as an advantage to use it with blush to swipe across the cheeks. I always and still use the “kabuki” brush- a really cute small chubby round brush that creates an amazing blush effect on your face. But the contour brush is for more precise application.
I apply the blush with it by swiping it on the apples of my cheeks diagonally (up to down, down to up).
It’s narrow end helps deliver the color to the tight corners in the face, when compared with the chubby kabuki brush.
0 Product of the Week#1: MADLY
Your blush palette must include this!
NARS blush: in ‘madly’ shade
This “seashell pink” blush is a muted apricot brownish pink color with a hint of shimmer to give a sunkissed flush to the cheeks. What I love about it: it’s not to pinkish or reddish!
I use it with my Kabuki brush.
It might look boring in its little black box, but once it’s applied it gives a warm summery look- for those who don’t want the bronzing blushes. It looks very natural & works even better when mixed with other blushes (for more buildup), or on top of bronzers for a natural shimmer.
0 BBB: Best of Bobbie Brown
I feel that Bobbie Brown’s cosmetic line is extremely different than MAC’. It seems to focus on neutral shades & a more natural look. I personally love those 3 products:
1. Pot rouge –>one of my previous blogs was about this. Their pot rouge for lips & cheeks is a must have, especially for summer!
2. Creamy Concealer –> quite thick conceler, but it covers extremely well. I prefer applying it with my finger. Get a corrector too. It works amazingly to hide dark circles under the eyes, but won’t slide into your fine creases. Apply the corrector first, then the concealer.
3. Long Wear Gel liner –>Similar to MAC’s fluidline but it’s much better! Easier to apply, stays put even more!

0 Pot Rouge
Bobbie Brown’s pot rouge for lips & cheeks is just fantastic. My best 2 colours are “Calypso Coral” & “Pale Pink”. You can use it for both your lips & cheeks. So easy to use, only a dot on each cheek and blend (you can even apply a dot on your bronzer to enhance it). For lips, applying it with a lip brush is the way to go. Both colours are more of spring/summer colours.
Pale pink is actually a bright cool pink that is not pale at all. It translates to a beautiful innocent, transparent satin. It’s very buildable if you want to add more “flush”. When on lips, it looks like a darker version of MAC’s VG Gaga. I recommend using lipbalm underneath it to not cause dryness.
Calypso Coral is a bright orangy/peachy colour. It goes well with medium to dark skin, tanned or olive. Not suitable with very fair skin. What I love about it is that it is not too orange.
0 Summery Blush
Summer is here, and with the perfect tan or a bronzed look, you’de want a shimmery tannish blush to top off your skinfinished powdered face. I am crazy head over heels with those 3 blushes from MAC. Their colours are perfect for the “bronzed look”, with a hint of shimmer.
- Bottom left (Coppertone) –> Lighter shade out of the 3. Peachish-brown matte tone. Can build it up in color to get a more dramatic effect. Differs from the other 2 since it is NOT shimmery. Just a natural warm subtle glow. Works beautifully if topped off with other blushes (Melba /peaches).
- Top left (Peach twist) –> Warmer shade out of the 3. More peachy, less pinkish. Gives a sunkissed look. Becareful when applying this one. Don’t overdo or you’ll look clownish! Very shimmery & goes best with ppl who are slightly tanned or have a darker complexion.
- Top right (Sunbasque) –> all time favorite summer blush! With peachy & orangy tones with pearl. It’s one of those colors that go with every skin tone. Can be used as a bronzer too.
